International centre NoUS (Norm, Usage and Systems) – Interdisciplinary Centre for Philological and Linguistic Research

Scientific Coordinator: Lorenzo Lozzi Gallo

The institution of an interdisciplinary centre for linguistic and philological research, named NoUS (Norm, Usage and Systems), promoted by Lorenzo Lozzi Gallo, Claudia Fabrizio and Anna Rinaldin, has been approved by the Department of Linguistic, Literary and Philosophical Studies at Pegaso University on October 16th 2024. The research centre is currently being established through contacts with foreign universities. A conference on „Norm, Variation and Identity“ that will be held on May 29-30 will be the first occasion to compare results of previous investigations and determine future lines of research. The goal of the research centre is to coordinate investigation on the philological research, the literary language and the process of standardisation, including the risk/goal of exclusion for dialects and minority languages, linguistic self-perception in determining an ethnic identity, as well as the encoding functional to language teaching and language acquisition processes.

Research Centre “Gender Issues Study Lab. Seminario permanente di Studi di genere” (GENIES)

Scientific Coordinator: Floriana Calitti

The field of research concerns the literary disciplines, both theoretical and historical, and linguistics, with an openness to the interdisciplinary vocation of the subject. The objectives will be to reflect on the peripheral presence of female authors in the history of literature and on the ‘canon’, including the scholastic canon. In addition, the field of analysis is gender, both as an object of study and as a key to interpretation; the main feminist theories and practices, as well as, from a linguistic perspective, practices to avoid choices that lead to inequalities, discrimination and social inequalities, a “Terza Missione” objective, also addressed to the school world.

Intercultural Research Hub on Ibero-American Philosophy (IRHIA)

Scientific Coordinators: Tommaso Sgarro, Stefano Santasilia

This is an inter-university research centre dedicated to the study of Hispanic philosophy, and in particular Ibero-American philosophy. The Research Centre aims to overcome philosophical Eurocentrism, promoting dialogue between different traditions of thought. Through seminars, conferences and publications, it encourages collaboration between scholars at an international level, promoting often marginalised perspectives and exploring the relationship between philosophy, culture and identity.
